Major Central London Developer, Hines UK instructed The Lorenz Consultancy to negotiate it’s December 2008 rent review on some 14,000 sq ft where the Landlord’s quoted approximately £110.00 per sq ft.
After extensive negotiations failed this was taken to Arbitration where we argued that the September 2008 market had all but collapsed with Lehman Brothers having hit the wall in September 2008. An Arbitrator determined that the fair rent was £68.00 per sq ft against the quoted rent of over £110.00 per sq ft. A really successful result which shows that Arbitration sometimes pays dividends.
